Which GPU should you choose for Blender?
RX 6900 XT 16 GB is the stronger Blender rendering pick here, and both cards have the same VRAM capacity.
Cycles rendering performance
RX 6900 XT 16 GB leads by 191.5% in the Renderjuice Blender benchmark model (2,865 vs 983). For render-time-first decisions, that is the card to prioritize.
VRAM and scene capacity
Both cards have 16 GB of VRAM, so the decision is less about scene capacity and more about render speed, architecture, power draw, and price.
Power ratings and cooling
A2 16 GB is the lower-power option at 60 W TDP, compared with 300 W for RX 6900 XT 16 GB. If render speed is close, that can make A2 16 GB easier to cool and run quietly.
Is the upgrade worthwhile?
A2 16 GB is newer, but RX 6900 XT 16 GB still leads this Blender benchmark comparison. That makes the older card worth considering when used pricing or VRAM capacity is favorable.
Comparison summary
RX 6900 XT 16 GB leads the Blender benchmark score by 191.5%.
Fastest in Cycles: RX 6900 XT 16 GB 191% faster than A2 16 GB.
Most VRAM: Tie Same memory capacity.
Lowest power draw: A2 16 GB 80% lower rating than RX 6900 XT 16 GB.
Cheapest: A2 16 GB 13% cheaper than RX 6900 XT 16 GB.
Best value for money: RX 6900 XT 16 GB 152% better value than A2 16 GB.
Both GPUs ship with 16 GB of VRAM, so the tradeoff is more about speed, architecture, and efficiency than memory capacity.
If you are deciding between these cards for Blender, focus first on Blender benchmark score, VRAM capacity, memory bandwidth, and whether your scenes are likely to benefit more from raw speed or extra memory headroom. The comparison table above keeps those tradeoffs in one place.
