What it does

Auto-Rig Pro is a character rigging toolkit for rig creation, skinning, animation retargeting, and export.

  • Create and adjust a character rig before skinning the mesh.
  • Retarget animation from another armature to an Auto-Rig Pro character.
  • Append or link rigged characters into another scene and prepare rigs for export.

Install and start

Install

  1. Remove an older Auto-Rig Pro version before installing a replacement.
  2. In Blender Preferences, use Install from Disk and select the Auto-Rig Pro ZIP.
  3. If your license includes the optional AI files, install their separate package from Auto-Rig Pro preferences.

First use

  • Open the Auto-Rig Pro panel in the 3D Viewport sidebar and choose the rigging workflow for the character.
  • Build and adjust the rig, bind the mesh, then test deformations before animating or retargeting motion.
  • Save a local render test after appending the character into the scene that will be submitted.
