What it does

Geo-Scatter distributes large numbers of objects across scene surfaces and controls their density with masks and terrain rules.

  • Build forests, ground cover, rocky terrain, and other ecosystems from scatter layers.
  • Control density with slope, altitude, proximity, texture, and painted-mask inputs.
  • Load prepared ecosystems from .scatpack biome libraries.

Install and start

Install

  1. Install the Geo-Scatter add-on archive from Blender Preferences.
  2. Install any required .scatpack biome files as a separate Blender asset library.
  3. Keep the add-on version and biome library versions consistent across machines that open the scene.

First use

  • Select a surface object and open Geo-Scatter from the 3D Viewport sidebar.
  • Add a scatter layer, choose the objects or biome to distribute, then adjust density, rotation, and scale.
  • Add masks for slope, altitude, proximity, textures, or painted vertex colors where the distribution needs limits.
