Keep Blend Project Packer current before creating a new upload package. Updates can improve packaging checks, dependency handling, and compatibility with Renderjuice.

Update from Blender Extensions

Use this method when Blender shows an update for the extension.
1

Open Blender Extensions

Open Blender, go to Preferences, and open Get Extensions.
2

Find Blend Project Packer

Search for Blend Project Packer and open its extension entry.
3

Install the update

Click Update. When it finishes, restart Blender before creating your next portable package.

If Blender does not show Update

You may have installed the extension from a ZIP file. Blender places that kind of installation in a local user repository, so it may not receive updates from the Blender Extensions repository.
1

Uninstall the local copy

Find Blend Project Packer in Blender’s installed extensions or add-ons and uninstall it.
2

Install from Blender Extensions

Open Get Extensions, search for Blend Project Packer, and click Install.
3

Restart Blender

Restart Blender, then open Blend Project Packer from the Project Pack tab in the 3D Viewport sidebar.
Installing from Blender Extensions is the recommended fix because Blender can offer later updates from the same repository.

Last resort: reinstall from a ZIP

Use a ZIP installation only when Blender cannot install the extension from its Extensions repository.
  1. Uninstall or delete the current Blend Project Packer extension.
  2. Download the latest ZIP from the Blend Project Packer page.
  3. Drag the ZIP file into Blender and confirm the installation.
  4. Restart Blender before packaging another project.
A ZIP installation may not show future updates. You will need to repeat these steps when a newer version is released. Related guides:
